This custom banjo was made of rock maple. The neck is a tiger striped maple with an ebony back strap and the rim was a block style maple rim.
The fretboard inlay consists of Mother of Pearl dogwood flowers along with abalone leaves and brass stem. There is a copper vine that grows around the stem. The trunk of the tree has roots that go deep and the copper color of the vine offsets the brass of the tree to create a beautiful coordinated effort to live.
The hardware is all aged raw brass. The tone ring is a 11″ tubaphone and when the banjo was first built, the head used was a goatskin hide head.
